Roundtable at SICCAS marks the end of a successful delegation visit

On 22 January 2016, the Austrian delegation on advanced materials visited the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (SICCAS) in Shanghai, the last station of the delegation visit. Prof SONG Lixin, Director of SICCAS, warmly welcomed the delegation and Prof SUN Jing provided a brief introduction to this renowned institute. This was followed by short presentations on specific research topics given by both Chinese and Austrian experts. In the afternoon, Austrian representatives actively engaged in Science-2-Science and B2B talks with their Chinese partners. Austrian scientists also visited four laboratories at the Jiading campus of SICCAS.

SICCAS was founded in 1959 and has about 1200 researchers, students and staff. It is a comprehensive and unique organization engaged in advanced inorganic non-metallic materials research. It has achieved outstanding results in pioneering basic research, innovation of high-tech materials and applied research.
