Exchange ideas with world-renowned scientists

30 June 2019 –The 2019 Nanjing Tech Week “Infinite Nanjing Infinite Future” was held from June 26th to 30th 2019. The event was hosted by the Nanjing Municipal Government with the main aim to promote innovation, cooperation and technological development of the city. Nearly 2,300 guests, including 800 international participants from 45 countries and regions, attended the event.
At the invitation of Nanjing Municipal Government, Mr Philipp Agathonos, director of the Science and Technology Section of the Austrian Embassy Beijing (OSTA) was present at the opening ceremony. Mr Agathonos also attended the 2019 International Conference on Innovation and Application of Block Chain Technology, a side event organised by the Gulou District government, with a presentation focused on the Austrian Technology on Block chain and Cyber Security. At the margins of the conference Mr Agathonos met with Mr Yang Xuepeng, Executive Vice Mayor of Nanjing, Mr Jiang Yuejing, Vice Mayor of Nanjing, Mr Wu Wei, Chief Executive of Gulou District as well as Mr Lei Fengyun from the department of international cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and attended a meeting with the Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, Mr Lou Qinjian.
In the course of the conference Mr Agathonos held constructive meetings and exchanged ideas, among others, with the well-known Nobel Prize winner Mr Chao Chung Ting, Prof. Freddy Boey, Deputy president of National University of Singapore and Prof. Chunming Rong from the University of Stavanger.
