12 November 2019 – The China Hi-Tech fair (CHTF) 2019 took place from November 12th to 17th in Shenzhen and offered its own platform for Austrian and state-owned companies and research institutes to make new contacts and to intensify cooperation. On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs (BMDW) and in cooperation with the Global Incubator Network (GIN), the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology and AC Guangzhou, OSTA organized an Austrian delegation consisting of startups for the CHTF in Shenzhen and operated its own booth in the Belt & Road part of the event. The delegation was headed by Mr Philipp Agathonos, Minister Plenipotentiary for science and technology and director of OSTA. Dr. Philipe Reinisch, CEO of StartUp Silkroad 4.0, who also works for AIT, provided full support to the delegation.
OSTA also organized an own B2B networking seminar “Innovative Austria” at the international conference hall of the CHTF, in which the Austrian companies were able to present their products and research results. The Austrian participants also paid a visit to three Chinese technology institutions: Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT) of the China Academy of Sciences, CETC Smart City Research Institute and the Shenzhen branch of the Harbin Institute of Advanced Technology (HIAT).
On the margin of the event, there were interesting discussions between Austrian and Chinese participants, which offered an excellent networking opportunity for everyone involved.
